In a default or Typical installation, only the “English (United States)” Language Option is installed. However, the service pack installer attempts to update all language files, thus causing the error.
To avoid the error in a compressed MSI installation, apply the service pack to the workstation using one of the following methods.
When you run the Patch Wizard (from the service pack autorun install.exe menu, or rpatch.exe in the download extracted files), select the option “Apply to the Local installation on this workstation.” For more information, see Technical Note 2263.
To apply the service pack to the local workstation by opening the MSP file:
To apply the service pack to the workstation by running an msiexec command line, see Technical Note 1885.
The service pack error will not occur if the original 9.0 product is installed from the media image using the autorun menu option, Setup.exe, or non-compressed Atmee90.msi file (located in the \EXTRA! directory of the product CD, or C:\attachmate_temp\extra-9.0-release\EXTRA! after files are extracted in downloaded product). The non-compressed Atmee90.msi file is identified by its smaller size (approximately 3 MB) since it does not contain the compressed program files.
