This technical note describes two methods for expanding UNIX files that are packaged with a .zip extension: using UnZip (by Info-Zip) on a UNIX machine, or using a Windows unzip utility on a Microsoft Windows machine and then transferring the binary files to the UNIX system.
Note: Reflection for the Web .zip files can alternatively be expanded with a Java jar command. See also Technical Note 1699 or the product Installation Guide at http://support.attachmate.com/manuals/wthdocs.html.
Use the UnZip utility (by Info-Zip) to expand a .zip UNIX package on a UNIX machine, as follows:
Note: Precompiled versions of the UnZip binaries (unzip.tar) are located on the product CDs for Reflection for Secure IT version 6.0 only and for F-Secure SSH in the following directories. Beginning in Reflection for Secure IT version 6.1, the unzip utility is not included on the product CD.
Another option for expanding a .zip UNIX package is to use a Windows unzip utility, such as WinZip or Stuffit, to unzip the UNIX files on a Windows machine; then you can use FTP or NFS to move the binary files to the UNIX host.
