If you are running Microsoft Windows Vista with User Account Control (UAC) enabled, some applications, such as Verastream Host Integrator Development Kit, may need to run with administrative privileges to function properly. This technical note explains how to set these privileges.
If you are using the Host Integrator Development Kit on Windows Vista with User Account Control (UAC) enabled (the default), then each user must run as administrator and supply administrative credentials for the Development Kit to function properly.
If you are currently logged in to Windows as an administrator, when you start Verastream a popup message, "A program needs your permission to continue" is displayed. Click Continue.
If you are not logged in as the administrator, follow these steps to enable Verastream to use elevated credentials:
Once these steps are complete, when you start Verastream from this icon, Verastream launches with administrative permissions. Depending on how your UAC is configured, you may be prompted to enter an administrative account name and password on startup.
