Productivity Pane

Symptoms

Can not use the keyboard to access the Productivity Pane from the Host session.

Fix

Upgrade to EXTRA! X-treme 9.0.  In this version the CTRL-0 (zero) keys will access the Productivity Pane.  <CTRL-1> is used to access the first productivity feature in the list, <CTRL-2> to get the second and so forth.  From any of the productivity features, <CTRL-0> (zero) will return the user to the session window.

This set of key combinations is somewhat consistent with Microsoft Outlook.  The difference is that Microsoft Outlook uses a specific key combo for each button in their Navigation Pane.   So in Outlook, <CTRL–1> switches to the mail window regardless of where mail is in the button order.  In EXTRA!, <CTRL–1> always selects the topmost button in the Productivity Pane.

If a productivity feature is disabled, the numbering of subsequent buttons in the Productivity Pane changes.

If a <CTRL> key has been remapped, it cannot be used to navigate to the Productivity Pane.  The common default mapping for the right control key is <NewLine>.  On the other hand, the Productivity bars do not know about keyboard maps so <CTRL-n> will always behave the same way when focus is on one of these windows.

This feature was added for JAWS access the screen for 508 compliancy.
