PURPOSE
A significant change made in Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP could prevent Attachmate products from functioning successfully. The Windows Firewall is activated by default, thereby blocking unsolicited applications from connecting to the computer.
This document explains how to configure Attachmate client products to operate properly under SP2. This document does not cover Attachmate's server products.Goal

ATTACHMATE CLIENT APPLICATIONS
General testing was performed on Attachmate's supported client products that use the TCP/IP protocol to verify compatibility with SP2 and no critical issues were found. Some products that use TCP/IP ports to communicate to remote computers may be blocked by the Windows Firewall. A list of these products and instructions on how to avoid the Windows Security Alert message is available from Attachmate Technical Support. These solutions must be implemented by an administrator to the computer.
