Keyboard Key Combinations Used to Select Text do not Function in Sun CDE Text Editor

When KEA! X connects to a HPUX CDE the key combinations function in the Text Editor as described above.

The key combinations work when Text Editor is opened on Sun Workstation.

When KEA! X is connected to a SUN Solaris Common Desktop Environment (CDE) not all of the keyboard key combinations to select text function in the Text Editor.

The help in the Text Editor indicates the following:

To Select Text Using the Keyboard
You can use the keyboard to select text in these ways:

Text block       Move the cursor to the beginning of the text
block. Hold down Shift and one of the arrow
keys to move the cursor to the end of the text
                            you want to select.

Cursor to beginning of line        Shift+Home
Cursor to end of line              Shift+End
Cursor to beginning of paragraph Shift+Control+Up Arrow
Cursor to end of paragraph       Shift+Control+Down Arrow
Cursor to beginning of document   Shift+Control+Home
Cursor to end of document        Shift+Control+End
   All text                     Shift+Control+/
   Deselect text Shift+Control+\

This is the default behavior for these keys in the Text Editor. The only combinations that work are the All text(Shift+Control+/), and Deselect text(Shift+Control+\).

Additionally pressing and holding the Shift and one of the arrow keys to make or change a text selection does not function.

Fix

Workaround: Use the mouse to select text. Click at the beginning of the text block. Press and hold left mouse button. Then drag forward or backward to adjust the amount of selected text.
